You reap what you sow
-Chinese Proverb
You are the vehicle of success. You see, we live in a selfish world, and nobody cares about your dreams, goals and problems unless it benefits them in some way. Anyways, is mom going to maintain you till you’re 60? I hope not. And so now it comes to the big question…do you have what it takes to be successful? Because it’s a rough harsh world and nobody will help you. You can only help yourself. Most people aren’t willing to do the hard work it takes to make their life easier.
And I know what the fuel to be successful…is…The choices you make.
So, you work in an underpaid job, working 48 hours a week and earning below the market value. Oh woe is you! Seriously, did someone put a gun in your head and threatened you: “You will work here or it’s our head!” Nope. You CHOSE the job. You also chose to spend your salary on drinks, a 47” flat-screen or on tokens for an online game. And then you wonder where will you pay the rent?! Or that loan!
If you aren’t where you want to be, the problem is your choices. Your circumstances are the symptoms of those choices.
Your choices spark the fires of future circumstances.
The fabric of your life is sewn by the cumulative consequences of your choices—millions of them—that you set into motion. You act, react, believe, disbelieve, perceive, misperceive, and all of it engineers your existence. If you’re dissatisfied with life, your choices take full responsibility. Blame yourself and the choices you’ve made. Yes, you are as you have chosen. You are1000% responsible of you choices, your actions and your attitudes. Look at these examples:
The choice to cheat on your exams or study for them.
The choice to squander college because your parents paid for it.
The choice to lie or to be honest.
The choice to drive without insurance.
The choice to befriend bad people over good people that enhance your life.
The choice to watch TV or read a book (or write to help others!).
The choice to drive 105 mph in a 55 mph zone.
The choice to rob the corner convenience store.
The choice to overindulge in food or liquor.
The choice to believe in people with no track record.
The choice to cheat on your significant other.
The choice to buy on credit.
The choice to get drunk and party every weekend.
The choice to hire a contractor without a background check.
The choice to play video games 30 hours a week.
The choice to get married after four weeks of dating.
The choice to go into business with incompetent partners.
If you don’t like your current situation, do something about it! And here is the symptom of our society: people don’t want to take responsibility. People drown in the misery of their own choices while neglecting to acknowledge they are the cause. In fact, they put the blame in outside circumstances, it’s always someone else’s fault. And that mistake has a double jeopardy. One, you’re blaming the wrong party, and two, you issue blame instead of taking responsibility. You fail to see the need for some more self-improvement training. In business, most people focus on what can’t get done rather on what can be done. People reject themselves even before they take action! So, here are some pointers:
-Take responsibility. Identify what choices you took that brought you to our deplorable situation.
-Work on your skills every day. Persistence is all about consistency, about doing it every day. Do you see professional athletes just training 2 days before the event or worse not preparing? No wonder people flunk tests, because they didn’t study, they did not prepare for the exam. Instead they chose to watch TV, go out with their friends, etc. “I’ll do it tomorrow” Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow. Well, tomorrow’s goals won’t come if you don’t do something TODAY.
-Become solution oriented. Stop with the whining and get your butt moving to become a better person and live a more successful life!
-Plan. Never do anything without thinking, and that includes when you open your mouth. You never know that you may say or do something you may regret later on.
The thing is, blame should only occur once, and that’s when you are blaming yourself. And that’s not reality, that’s opportunity.
But what matters most is your perception, your attitude. THE WAY YOU REACT TO YOUR SITUATION. Are you down, unmotivated and daunted by the things that you need to do? Or are you motivated, pumped and ready to overcome your obstacles?
If your world is canvassed with words like “never” and “can’t,” guess what? It’s true—you can’t and you never will! Is it possible to earn $1 million in one month? Sure it is, just ask the guy who does it. Can you go to the moon? Yes, just ask NASA. If you want extraordinary results, you’re going to need extraordinary thinking. Unfortunately, “extraordinary” is not found, trapped in society’s gravity of thinking and the beliefs that fuel them. The words society normally uses are normal, average and commonplace and the beliefs are instant gratification, consumerism and obtain results with no effort. Nothing could be further from the truth.
So, we see what we are facing, a rough world with many challenges, roadblocks and obstacles to overcome. The question I place you is, are you more than willing to transform your life?
